CONFUSED ABOUT ALL THE DENTAL IMPLANT ADVERTISING YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET? YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Call (713) IMP-LANT
Unfortunately, many "non-surgical" dentists begin to surgically place implants after taking an abbreviated (1-3 day) course on implant surgery. These courses do not prepare the participants to predict, diagnose and treat potential complications for their patient. It's your health and it's important that you ask the right questions of your doctor before proceeding with dental implant surgery.
How long have they been placing implants and how many have they placed in the last year?
What training have they received to handle complications should they arise, or do you have to be referred out to a specialist?
How often do they attend continuing education courses about the specialty of implant surgery?

If you have been doing your research on dental implants, you might have heard about mini dental implants. While these implants have a useful place in the treatment of select conditions, they are not routinely placed in our practice. Some dentists are advertising implants at a very low cost and are using mini dental implants for their patients. We have found that these types of implants are not the best long-term treatment option for most of our patients.
The vast combined experience of our surgeons has led us to the belief that larger, stronger implants are best for long-term success in the majority of patients. Rest assured, after your consultation, your surgeon will determine the best treatment for you.
If you have more questions about mini dental implants, call 713-IMPLANT to reserve your consultation with Dr. Stobaugh, Dr. Metz, or Dr. Seidel. You may also want to ask our Implant Coordinator these types of questions at a Free Dental Implant consultation (sign up here). Don’t compromise your long-term health by using a short-term implant. The experts at Southwest Institute of Dental Implantology serve Houston and surrounding areas with state-of-the-art dental implant services, and we’re ready to give you a reason to smile!
