CONFUSED ABOUT ALL THE DENTAL IMPLANT ADVERTISING YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET? YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Call (713) IMP-LANT
Unfortunately, many "non-surgical" dentists begin to surgically place implants after taking an abbreviated (1-3 day) course on implant surgery. These courses do not prepare the participants to predict, diagnose and treat potential complications for their patient. It's your health and it's important that you ask the right questions of your doctor before proceeding with dental implant surgery.
How long have they been placing implants and how many have they placed in the last year?
What training have they received to handle complications should they arise, or do you have to be referred out to a specialist?
How often do they attend continuing education courses about the specialty of implant surgery?

Dr. Seidel grew up in south Texas. After graduating from Alice High School, she attended Baylor University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She then pursued her D.D.S. degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch where she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. After graduating in 1999, she entered the integrated oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Texas. During this time, she gained the requisite knowledge and skill to obtain her certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as obtaining her Medical Doctorate Degree.
Following her medical training, Dr. Seidel chose to remain in the Houston area where she is now in full time practice with Dr. Stobaugh & Dr. Metz. She provides her patients true full scope Oral and Facial Surgery care with a gentle touch. When not performing surgery, Dr. Seidel enjoys spending time with her young son and family as well as being involved in many area social activities. She continues to support the University of Texas through mentoring new and soon to be graduates of the Dental School.
